Party Time!

The Henwoods threw us an amazing engagement party November 7th for the entire wedding party. It was so nice, they did such a great job and we had such a wonderful time...as did everyone! All the groomsmen and bridesmaids and their significant others made it and everyone got to meet each other. I thought that would be nice so the rehearsal wasn't the first time. Great food, great drinks and great friends! Cant beat that! Thank you so much for such a great party Amy! It was so sweet and the attention to detail was amazing, the mini chicken cordon bleus, petite quiches and the yummy Cabernet were just perfect, you guys know me so well! And thank you to Carrie for making the gorgeous wedding cookies! What a wonderful party that we will never forget!

Dan and I enjoying the party.

Registry: China, Flatware, and Stemware

So with only 4 months left Danny and I finally registried and decided on china patterns, flatware, and stemware. I was glad he actually had an opinion and joined me in selecting, helps me not second guess myself. There are so many nice choices out there it was hard to narrow it down, I found 4 I liked and Dan vetoed two of them, then we agreed on one. Since we already have everyday and fine china, both very light, we decided to register for some with a little more color.

Here is the stuff we have now.

Vintage in Ivory
Royal Doulton Naples Platinum

And for especially girly events, like tea parties and showers, and for Christmas I inherited these...
Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles

Lenox Christmas

The New Ones

Pfaltzgraff Villa de Luna

Lenox Vintage Jewel

And as an engagement present we already got 3 sets of the Villa de Luna and all the cute matching stuff...a napkin holder, canister set, salt and pepper shakers, trivets, cookie jar, cream and sugar, butter dish, pasta jar and my favorite the parmesan cheese server, so cute, I love when china has a ton of matching stuff!

We also got our everyday flatware as an engagement gift(they discontinued the one I already had) so we are all set for Thanksgiving!

Lenox Esquire Everyday Flatware

Gorham Ribbon Edge Frost Fine Flatware

Lenox Firelight Platinum Crystal

What we already had
Wallace that was discontinued

Pier 1 clearance special, cheap but they worked for now

Cant wait to have a nice dinner party with all our new stuff!

Reception Linens

Having such bright colors for the wedding, I wanted the tablescapes to be very vibrant against the dark wood of the room, so I had been looking for some ideas, and its starting to come together I think...

Here is the dark wood room, but I am having them bring in round tables...

I liked some of these tablescapes...

Here is the table cloth we picked out from the hotels linen book...

and I loved this idea with the wood chairs...

so I bought these chair sashes on ebay, hope they tie nicely...

Place cards project

I came across these adorable place cards on one of the wedding blogs that I love and saved it in hopes that I would be able to create something like it for my reception. Last week I started on the project, purchasing this cardstock and these brads to go along with my green and pink paisley wedding theme. I hope it turns out!!

Victoria Secret's Sexy Little Bride Collection

Apparently Victoria Secret had an amazing bridal collection before I got engaged, but most of it is sold out. Thank goodness for Ebay! Ebay has all of it new with tags, at great prices! I am not a fan of the stuff that says "Sexy Little Bride", but there is a ton of cute stuff I did like... my something blue, tanks for before and after the wedding ("Kiss the Bride" and "Just Married"), tanks for my bridesmaids and a hoodie to wear while getting ready, that I got from Victoria Secret online, its says The Future Mrs. on the front and my sister's friend is going to add Dan's last name and Bride on the back, so cute! I just love that blueish teal color!

Candy Buffet

I just love all the pictures of Candy Buffets out here on the internet, I knew right when I saw one it was a great idea for our wedding. We found some great deals to help us make it happen...

Dan and I found these on sale at Ross for $9.99 to $12.99 depending on the size, there were 5 different styles all very nice and a good size, we got 6 total spending only around $70.

Then on Ebay I found this package for only $19.99 total with shipping, it comes with 5 scoops, 2 tongs and 100 bags, I think I will use green and pink take-out boxes but still a great deal and I have the bags just in case or to use for something else, I got them in the mail Monday and they turned out very nice, the perfect size (look a little big in the picture).

Music

I booked all the music for the wedding, a string quartet for the ceremony, a jazz ensemble and a DJ. I know a lot of people frown upon DJs but most of our must play list is dance music that a band couldn't play, so we compromised and did an ensemble and a DJ, I hope it works out. It took me a while to find a DJ I liked, so many think their "performance" is all about them and let their egos get the best of them. I know a few horror stories with DJs, one that was even my own, but since our music tastes are so eclectic I think a DJ can cover more, especially since a few of my girls say booty music is required, nothing bad that I cant play in front of my grandma though.

The Girls Attire

The guys ties came in this weekend and they match perfectly with the swatch for the bridesmaids dresses from Dessy group. I was a littler worried because I ordered them online without ever seeing them in person, but they couldn't have matched any better!

Here is the bridesmaids dresses, for some reason, bridesmaids dresses and favors have been very difficult for me, but I finally found a great dress in a great color green that all my girls liked by After Six from The Dessy Group and lucky me they also had the exact flower girl dresses I was looking for in the same color!

Save the Dates

How cute are these Save the dates by Pose Prints!?! I have seen a lot of stationary stores online that allow you to create a model in your likeness, but I have to say Pose Prints is my favorite!

The Boys Attire

Dan was in a wedding 2 years ago for one of his best-friends Kevin and lucky us Kevin's wife Tasha has great taste and 3 out of 4 of Dan's groomsmen were in the wedding, so to save the boys money and me time looking we decided to use the same suits again. My dad and Dan's brother have to buy the suit, but I am sure they can use them again. Originally I was going to go with tuxes, but since its a Spring wedding on the beach I thought a ligt suit would be better

To compliment the wedding colors I got the boys this tie from The Tie Bar to go with the suit.
